No one is denying that this type of content may have a place in Fallout's wasteland. But the Frontier's execution is weird & cringe. And honestly I can do without underage sex slaves in my Fallout. I'd rather have cars.

It makes me impossibly sad thinking about how much effort must have went into making all of this work in the New Vegas engine, only for it to come out as a half baked call of duty campaign in the fallout universe. Just imagine what could’ve been.

Problems with the mod can be summed up as:

It should be stated most of the questionable things in this mod got removed. A lot of it was in was because of the influence of one of the main authors of the mod, who was a notorious narcissist, who wrote the entire NCR campaign single handedly. He was also responsible for a lot of the backend code the mod required to function, and threatened to take this code and leave if anyone tried to change his story or majorly critique it. He had to be persuaded to even let the team make a Brotherhood and Legion campaign, which is partly why those quest lines are so much better written

Yeah this one was really weird, it’s a shame that the hard work of some very talented modders was ruined because some creep wanted to put his weird fetishes into it.

The most recent version of the mod removes these options, I know alot of people complain its kinda a cod shooter (if you play teh ncr campaign) but the more traditional crusaders ending is pretty DLC compatible. Honestly its the side content that makes the frontier worth it, there are so many great side quests to do and fun things to explore its still worth a download and play.

The bad writing can be funny
The references to every war movie ever is also funny
But the sexual things ESPECIALLY when it involves a vulnerable (and portrayed to be underage despite that one note) girl that's not funny or "hot" it's just gross

Its absolutely wild to think I played this at launch. I would be a liar if I didn't say that I enjoyed a lot of the mod, but man the main questlines and all the weird sexual stuff made me never want to come back do it again.

Edit: it's worth downloading just for the highwayman mod for the base game.

They called adding Enclave content to the mod a "power fantasy" then proceeded to add a barely legal sex slave and the ability to overpower and...make friends..with a FUCKING DEATHCLAW

I don’t really care about much of that stuff due to the horrors of fallout and if I remember correctly in the original you could be a slaver, however this mod adds weird fetish shit that I don’t like. Everyone can tell what they are implying with that encounter

When it comes to villiany in games, there's a difference between actions that allow you to play an evil character, and actions that are just evil in a mundane sense, which is the worst kind of evil because it's so frequent and real.

Blowing up a town or siding with the militariatic bad guys? Despicable, but extremely unlikely and something that most people haven't had to experience nor fantasize about.

Something like, well, this? Actually disturbing and reminiscent of actual traumatic events people have gone through.

If you want to be a villian, be a professional. Professionals have standards.
