Depends on what you want vr for, I started with a quest 2 and personally I mainly use and enjoy pcvr and honestly the software of the quest 2 and certain lag/connection issues make me perfer using the valve index over the quest 2. The quest 2 is still a great headset and I reccomend it for new vr users but I perfer the valve index because I'm used to vr.

Index is definitely a yes if you can afford it, the reverb just got a buff, not all of these are a no, it all depends on what you’re after

The issue with both quests is the power so we haves to get stuff like Pavlov shack instead of the real Pavlov Vr

G2 tracking isn't usually awful honestly, at least in my case. Only times it generally fails me are when it's dark (obviously cuz it uses cameras) and when the controllers are dying
This is coming from someone who only ever plays Beat Saber, Propagation and the very occasional other game but not often anything else so idk though

No pc no cables means low quality image on the eyes and the battery only lasts 4 hours so I’d advise getting a long cable to charge while playing or just connecting it to pc

get the reverb g2 if you're looking into pc vr, the tracking is not bad since they updated it

I prefer the Index over the Q2 simply because better performance, wider FOV, and comfort. I did get my index for $50 though, I know the price is a big turn off for buyers.
