5 things to consider before getting a Leopard Gecko

So in this video I talk about a few of the cons of keeping leopard geckos but don't be discouraged completely from keeping leopard geckos by this video, I'm just trying to point out some factors that might be important down the line. As always, your feedback is welcome in the comments below!

Is it ok if I use like a 7 gallon tank for when I get mine as a baby like use that size of tank for only like 2 or 3 months is that ok

Haha, I may be the only person ever to look forward to coming home and cleaning snake poop. I guess it's my stress relief, and it may very well be the only thing keeping me sane. I still argue that leopard geckos are the easiest pet reptile in general with perhaps only a corn snake/king snake being about the same in maintenance. That said, I think adult colubrids need more space than we generally provide them in captivity, so 35-40 gallon is ideal in my opinion for most snakes. Leopard geckos can do well in smaller enclosures, and so I still argue they are easier. Bearded dragons, in my honest opinion, don't make good first reptiles as they have insane heat requirements and expensive lighting. Still, my first reptile was a bearded dragon, and she does very well, though I do realize I should have given her more heat and better care when she was younger. I just wish I knew it then.

you make it seem like you now a lot about geckos when you don't first of all you need a heat pad not a heat lamp geckos need their heat from under they belly's heat lamps do nothing for them 2ND of all lights can hurt leopard geckos eyes ..stop making a video of things to consider when buying a gecko if you don't even now the right things for one in my opinion you shouldn't even have one

Just because someone doesn't want to touch crickets or mealworms doesn't mean they can't have a leapord gecko, I have a leapord gecko and that can be easily solved with getting a pair of feeding tongs. As for interaction mine loves the attention, I know not all are the same but please don't say you can't handle them/interact with them when that is false in most cases. Have a good day tho.
