5 Things You Should Know Before Planning a Pregnancy | Preconception Health

‘Preconception Health’ is a journey into becoming healthy (and therefore fertile) BEFORE you wanna try to conceive. If you’ve been here with me for a while, you’ll know how much I preach that PREPARATION is key!

Because the truth is...Fertility issues are on the rise and getting pregnant isn’t easy for most people now…

🤰 The use of assisted reproductive technology (ART) by infertile couples is increasing by 5% to 10% per year.

🤰 About 10 percent of women (6.1 million) in the United States ages 15-44 have difficulty getting pregnant or staying pregnant, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,

Preconception care has never been more important.

So make sure you tune into this week’s episode of Fertility TV to learn about the 5 things you SHOULD know before planning a pregnancy.

Gosh I love what you said about preparing for pregnancy as though it’s the most important thing you’ve ever done. Having walked through five miscarriages and the loss of my firstborn to trisomy 18 I wish I had known things that you teach many many years ago. I did put into practice many of your suggestions and I did have a healthy almost 10 pound baby boy in 2020. Gearing up to go at it again for a sibling for our miracle boy. Thanks for what you do. It’s so important.

I went to a Dr and she refused to do most of the tests as we are not trying yet. I am doing in depth pre conception planning. I want to do all the tests prior, I went to a dentist, I cleaned up my diet and started my prenatal - I wanna be doing this for at least 6 months prior to TTC. Dr said she won't do them as we don't have issues to get pregnant yet... The only tests she done for me were to check my blood type, if I am immune to some diseases like German measles and Hepatitis etc. I am going to another Dr tomorrow. That's why I am rewatching this video and making notes so I can ask for these things. Hopefully I will be heard this time.

Please think about maybe having a baby with a disability before getting pregnant. It's ok to not have a perfect baby but it's just good to consider also marry someone who won't leave of your baby isn't perfect! Marry someone humble 🖤

Hi:) my husband is from Kazakhstan I am from the United States I’m Mexican / American his family has lots of opinions of cultural views so it’s been tough and I feel like I can’t do nothing right, hearing information from an actual licensed professional helps a LOT thank you 🙏

I’m 24 and married, striving towards creating a real family (not perfect cause no one is) because I didn’t really have one growing up. I love this channel already and I’m excited and scared to get pregnant (I’m afraid of the pain, needles and all these tests you speak of)

I’ve made so many lifestyle changes, but I feel like my husband doesn’t have the drive to quit vaping or to cut down on alcohol. Does his side of things make such a big impact on my efforts?

I decided to get blood work done in February thinking about checking on my health. Found out I have a blood disorder. Shocked! But It was recommended I get my iud out which I was considering due to wanting to start trying. So I got it out almost 3 weeks ago. I have really high iron, so we are doing phlebotomies to help regulate my iron. After we get my levels down I then can start trying🙃

Perfect first video to watch! The hardest thing I've prepared for was probably planning a wedding and cross country move while teaching first grade, selling my home, and recovering from mono. That was such a hard time but also joyful and took so much work!

Great video, Are there studies on why infertility is increasing? Other than the BMI, alcohol and smoking points etc? Also, one of my biggest accomplishments has been my career and college degree. As a minority it means a lot to be able to provide as a couple for our future children.

Completed two degrees and now doing a doctorate degree. Have had a great career so far working for the government. I’m ready to start trying for a family next year at the age of 32. We will have a talk tomorrow with my boyfriend. We only started our relationship in the summer of 2022, so we are not married yet. Probably will have kids before that, hopefully. Thank you for this advice! I’ve taken all the labs, my boyfriend has not.

Audio is not good! I am listening with my headphones and I can hear music from both sides but your voice only from the right side. 😬
