2022 Ducati Supersport 950s Review - A fast but friendly sportsbike for the road

I've admired the Ducati Supersport 950s from afar for quite a while now, so when I had the opportunity to spend some time on one, I jumped at the chance. It's a beautiful looking machine, but it's also surprisingly practical for its class. The s model gets top of the line Ohlins suspension and a few other goodies. In this video, I give a rundown of the bike's features, and more importantly what it is like to ride and live with. The Ducati attention detail shines through and I can imagine it's a bike you'll love to own and ride.

This bike just looks absolutely gorgeous, looks like a super sport one can actually live with.

I'm 6' and 200lbs... still carry some holiday weight from 2009 and I love this bike, finally a sport bike that doesn't require a chiropractor visit after half hour of riding. Also, i like the over all power because on high end power bike, I'm constantly testing my self control. So go for it people... just toss those antlers out, and get a cool gel seat cover

Great review, thanks. I used ti have the 939 version - loved it. Then had Multistradas, and an S1000RR. Been without a bike for almost a year…I’m picking up a 950S on Tuesday. It’s the bike I missed the most by far. Can’t wait.

My dealer leant me one whist my Multistrada 950 was in for a service. What a bike! I had a 916 years ago and this handles as well and sounded fantastic on the standard pipes. I love the crackle on over run too. The comfort surprised me. I am very tempted

A Ducati you can actually live with and use everyday! Most of the Panigales are so cramped and hot, it's for enthusiasts only.

I don't see this as a sports tourer - the fact that you can still get paniers for it may suggest it, but Ducati doesn't use the term anywhere for it - they seem to be marketing it as a 'street' alternative to the Panigale series, so basically it's more of an oldschool sports bike. Most sports tourers are larger, heavier, with even higher bars and lower seats.

The only sports bike I'd seriously consider. Real world usable power, comfort and looks to die for. Great review Tony, only problem is there's no way I can afford one short of a lotto one day perhaps?

I Absolutely love my my 21 950 S. Only two very minor complaints....the mirriors vibrate terribly on not so smooth roads and if you get stuck in stop and go traffic on a hot summer day your legs get pretty toasty. But very user friendly sports bike and ergonomics are good for a middle aged overweight guy like me that is still 16 at heart!

If it looks fantastic & rides fantastic, then it probably is.... fantastic! I'm in the same old & large boys' club as you, Tony, so it's good to know this is a viable ride. My last Duke was a 907ie & that was a belter - and loud (Termis) too!

Nice review, Tony, I've never really been into sports bikes but I have to be honest, this one gives me a semi!

Another great review thanks, I was tossing up between the 950s and the 1000sx and went with the 1000sx after riding them back to back. Although I am now thinking of getting a Cafe Racer as well for the soulful ride they provide, Maybe I would not be thinking this way if I had got the 950s

Great description of the bike. Im a newer rider and upgraded to the 2017 S model this year after a year riding the 650 ninja. It has that perfect balance of sports and touring elements. As a newer rider the engine is smooth and punchy down low, compared to the 650 ninja I did find I had to change gear a lot more at lower speeds but the quick shift is a dream for that and the over run from the exhaust just brings a smile with its little pops and bangs. Riding position is not as upright as the ninja but isn't back breaking as a race ready bike and when i brought mine i also had a 2 hour ride back from picking it up all be on motorway, but had no pain being in that position for the amount of time. The seat gets a bit hot around town and in warm conditions but its a ducati thing.

Over all, i think its a great upgrade and hope for many fun filled miles on it.

Really enjoyed this review. Love the bike. I saw one at the Ducati museum 2 weeks ago when I was on a factory tour and museum visit. They had one in the museum entrance area that you could throw a leg over. A really lovely bike.

Great vid, thank you. Putting a deposit on one of these next week! Thought i wanted the Panigale but can't take the wrist pain anymore. This will be like a more refined vfr/interceptor i think,

I have been watching vids on this bike for 2 years this is the last before I order one tomorrow morning from Melbourne VIC Australia and ride back to Perth WA can't wait but it will be wet. It will be a good bike after riding the Ducati ST3s for 10 + years. Good review Tony

What an eye opening review, Sir...I'm about to get the bike of my dreams soon, since my last bike, over 30yrs ago, was a 1986 FZ600 Yamaha that was destroyed by an inattentive motorist and now, here I am at 55yrs old, it appears that THIS motorbike will more than suffice...Especially when you pointed out the discomfiting issues with more "powerful" bikes that invariably come with a "cost" to an older mans ergonomical concerns...I don't need any NEW aches and pains just to look kool. That's a young man's game. Now I can look kool and be comfortable as well. Thanks again for the AWESOME review and Cheers and much success to your channel.

Just found your channel currently running a supersport s 2018 model you have described it exactly as I find it to ride a lovely machine to own and ride as a shorter rider it suits me better than a sports bike I have put miles on this bike including sone touring thanks for the video now subscribed
