For me, the consequence of this is not the worry that someone else will steal "your" idea, but the worry that once we have received an idea, we miss the opportunity to implement it ourselves in our own personal way without worrying about the rest of the world...

I've heard some music so good that the first thing I thought was "They have to be channeling this.". Like it exists somewhere out there and they're just bringing it into reality. I first thought of that when I listened to Hiatus Kaiyote for the first time. Their music is so lush and complicated that I have a hard time believing it's from Earth.
