One fast way to determine threat level is to have a table of all creatures, from large to microscopic, sorted by Size and Aggression. This way you have viruses (small but aggressive), and elephants (large but non aggressive) in the right place. It's vague but you can dynamically change the aggressiveness / size and resort to get different results. So it's not just "i determine this creature to be a threat, permanently"
