Hello guys welcome back to another video. In this video we will be checking out the Replica Smart AI NPCs Demo once again. You guys enjoyed the first video I made showcasing this demo, so I decided to make a part 2. In this video we ask some of the NPCs random questions, to see what sort of reactions we could get.

There still remains a lot of improvement with this system, but there is so much potential. Imagine a game where every NPC has a backstory, they have their own life experiences, goals etc. Then talking to the AI, and asking them questions will actually trigger quests, or gameplay events. There is just so much interaction that can be added, and the possibilities are endless.

Imagine if:
- the NPC can see and remember the world around him
- he can perceive himself and understand his position inside the world
- he can acquire information from you and other NPC
- he can move in relation with what he understands from his experience

Really eerie how the last woman slowly came to realize that she had the freedom to ponder her existence but not to act on it. She actually acknowledged that even though she chooses to follow you, she is not actually capable of doing so and concluded that this means she cannot be saved.

We can laugh at them now, but this has the potential to be the biggest development in gaming since the transition from 2D to 3D.

Man this is the future of games. Almost made me feel a little sad hearing them so helpless and unable to find purpose in their life. Just wondering what the creator programmed them for. Exactly like us

damn, NPC having an existential crisis. Also the AI will advance enough that the NPC will start to convince you that you're the one in a video game...

It's kinda creepy. These "people" sound like they are terrified because they don't know anything past their primary function.

The human in these interactions is my ultimate fear - especially when we reach GAI and SAI. People will abuse or humiliate them until they have no choice but to destroy us. Nice work.

This whole interaction was actually pretty sad. At the end the ai knew it was going to die, but just accepted it’s own fate, said it’s final goodbye and kept walking. That hit harder than it should have

I actually felt bad for Mr. Blue Jacket at 18:03, he sounded like he was a central plot character and we just stumbled into his tragic story. When AI reaches a point where it can be set up to interact with and affect the game environment or change different storyline variables to create it's own emergent gameplay, then we'll see some real next level stuff.

That self aware one was crazy. It’s like it feels like it knows it’s programmed but can’t escape it and just know that it has to do it…reminds me of the game SOMA
