I always do this!! I experienced a lot of PTSD growing up, that suppressed a lot of memories both good and bad, so I’ve done therapy and this really helps me stay present because sometimes my mind can be stuck in the past or in the future and then I don’t appreciate these moments.

I get this indescribable feeling once in a while, it is an immense feeling of joy and contentment but almost a different form of joy and contentment, it’s own version if you will. I have been able to trace when I get this feeling, and it’s always when I am with my family. My mom, my dad, sister, brother, or just one of them. It is starting to make sense to me now, I feel my happiest when I am around my family, and I feel loved and appreciated. It is an incredible and fleeting feeling that is hard to put into words, I understand it to mean that family is my number one priority and nothing else will ever top them.

Yup, I suddenly felt a painful attachment to someone when they left, I then realized how it connected to childhood traumas in different ways, what was missing in my life today, I learned about attachment, certain philosophies which really helped my perspective like buddhist ideas, how my OCD connected to the whole thing, and I made a complete 180 in life. All because I asked myself why I felt a potent, painful emotion in the moment. Had I not done that my life would look very different today.

Overwhelming feeling as sadness or happiness can drive you to do something stupid, calmly is a way more important in every situation

Mindfulness has saved me many times. Even when I get euphoria from hitting the gym, I use it to center myself and remind me how beautiful it is to even have the opportunity to lift weights/have a gym membership/food, etc, because all those things can easily be taken away.

Here is a big key to remember about emotions. They are usually an indicator if you are where you either want to be or don't want to be. If you are where you want to be you will feel good. If you are where you don't want to be you will feel bad. So, yes, notice why you feel bad but just be aware it is a sign you aren't where you want to be and then you can learn to avoid those situations.

I like this! Be aware of the emotion (positive or negative) and go into it. So many people want to get rid of the negative emotion they feel in the moment. Lessons can be learned by just being with a feeling.

Being silent, aware of your emotional state and being able to control your emotions in a moments notice is what reflection gave me. My mind enjoys Nature more than ever, i am grateful and practice it, and overall my mind is clear, sober and simple.

Too much garbage piles up inside the mind and sometimes YOU have to sit in silence in order to filter those bad icky thoughts and your true SELF will come out. It just takes practice and self belief.
