some people use bullying as an argument to have uniforms but in reality kids will allways find another way to bully the to replace clothing. They also say it looks nicer but litterally nobody cares and im not wearing a polo to school when i prefer to wear a t shirt, jacket, and pants

I had the opportunity to experience wearing a school uniform and not and for me the answer is a straight up no!
I was always complaining about wearing a school uniform, it was uncomfortable, in the winter I was cold as heck, and it took over 20+ minutes every day for the teachers to do uniform check before entering the class!
I don’t believe bullying stops with the school uniform. In my school with uniforms bullying happened constantly!
The teachers would even say to the kids. “ don’t let other people tell you how you should look .”
Whenever they said that I always wondered “ what? But your telling me how to look.”
For me it’s a no. In the school I went to without the uniform bullying still happened. But at least people did have self expression and didn’t have to waste 20+ minutes each morning checking to see if the kids had there uniforms on.

It would be nice if a school required uniforms but then on Thursday or Friday you could wear what you want (as long as its appropriate)

I’ve taught in a charter school that requires uniforms for 12 years. I think the best thing is that it mostly eliminates the comparison of those with money and those without. Students are more modest due to the rules. And there’s no inappropriate pictures on the students’ outfits.

Uniforms are fairly reasonable except when you’re doing school from home on zoom

I'm pro uniform, there's nothing better than not having to choose what to dress every day for school, The uniform does deter from bullying about clothes, not other types of bullying, but still one less thing to bully about. It does create a sense of community and you're still able to express yourself even if you wear the same thing as everyone else. So, I'm pro uniforms all the way.

I’m for pro uniform. I’ve always been wearing uniform to sch and it saves me the trouble of showing my bad fashion sense.

Personally, (coming from a person who had to wear uniforms in elementary school, middle school, and high school) I don't think that kids should have to wear uniforms. I think it should be optional. It does not let kids express themselves. If your wearing the same thing for 6h every single day that you don't even like makes it really hard to express yourself. They may not be comfortable in them either, which makes it hard to focus in school because you would be focused on what is bothering you. Like they said in the video, it may not fit your body type and it could embarrass you, and make you insecure.

Also, parents/guardians may not be able to afford uniforms, and in my middle school the girls could only wear skirts, and the boys could only wear pants. That is just horrible. In winter it was cold as shit when wearing stupid ugly skirts that I hated. Anyway i'm definitely on team no uniforms.

Uniforms are awesome. They also make morning routines smoother and quick. People can cry a river.

As a broke student that only got to study in expensive school because of over 50% scholarship every year, I'd say I love wearing uniform because I'm not the confident type, and I'm always insecure about how people think of me, or criticize me base on my fashion choice, cuz my sense of fashion is already bad or I might say, I just don't have any fancy clothes.

A funny feature in the UK where all schools have uniform, but they still try to distinguish themselves on a school by school basis (along with the 'coat of arms' etc.) This eventually leads to a lot variety to differentiate between schools, and then some horrendous colour combinations and awful looking uniforms. This doesn't seem to happen in asia where every school has a very similar uniform.

In Bangladesh most of school and college has uniform require a uniform. But it's not strict at all. Most of both private and government schools just decided uniform colors and which colors and which type of clothing and shoes are allowed. Some few school have strict rules too . But it's not strict as most of part of world . Most of female students choose modest clothes over modern clothes expect some Elite areas of cites . Because we're very conservative society . It's basically long shocks with lace ribbon tight in knee and full sleeve and a tie or neck scarf. Some muslim students choose neck scarf as choose neck scarf as head scarf. Because other type of head scarf are not allowed.

A private school in my area required uniforms, but the skirts the girls wore were way too short. I wouldn't be caught dead in that uniform.

Excellent arguments both for and against
A young family member is currently having a debate competition with her school on this Topic and I will surely forward this to her

You can sell school uniforms when kids out grow them or graduate. Poor families can then buy them at a good discount. Uniform stores can sell new and buy/sell used uniforms.

Our school had very strict protocols
School starts at 7 am and ends at 1pm
Short hair or no hair, no super long hair ponytails or anything
School uniform must be wore in online class, you need to stand up to show if your wearing the full uniform
Work must be submitted after classes
No talking
No chatting
No bringing junk food
No phones, if it seen in your bag, kicked out
School bags
No watches, religions stuff or wrist bands.
No toys or anything for your birthday
Study only
No homework, then you get punished standing outside school and get beaten in the palm with a meta scale
500 lines punishments of written i won't do the same mistake ever again, if you don't write then 1000 times you need write after school

After watching this... I’m pro uniform, especially I have went to schools that requires uniform and does not require uniform and so far... those that do require a uniform tend to be more stable.

And also; Uniforms increases harassment and bullying? Ok I call BS. I have went to school that requires uniforms and those that don’t require uniforms and so far its always the ones that dosen’t require it because of the douchebags who think they are better because of their fashion choice while in schools that requires uniforms you are treated as an equal and theres not much fashion drama -_-

The girls teasing others for basically the same clothes the teaser is wearing herself...? Again BS, I never seen the girls in pro uniforms school that made drama out the uniforms.
