I have to wake up at 5 am for school. -_-

(Edit: I graduated 6 years ago, so I no longer have to wake at 5 am.)

My school tried to feed me some crap about schools starting early because parents need to work and have to drop off their kids to school. I replied: "then why in the heck are there school buses?"

I had to get up at 4:30 during high school. Dumbasses thought making you wake up early was somehow going to prepare you the future. I work night

I think we should switch the classroom around from didactic teaching in class towards online learning at home and use the class time for discussion about what was learned online at home.

Here in europe we have different times everyday. So one day you may start at 8:15 and end at 2 or 3. Another day you may start at 9 and end at 1 or 2. Some classes even get Friday's to start at 9:45 and end around 2.

Having to wake up and get ready at 6 am in the bitter cold is always a great way to suck the spirit out of a person. All the standardized tests and force fed facts also dulled my metaphorical blade of motivation and turned me into an apathetic drone. I think there are many bigger problems in our school systems then just starting too early.

My school, did a test similar to this one, they found that the later school starts meant that you where more likely to do better, but the Government wouldn't let them change the starting time, so that had to settle for putting the most important things in the middle of the day (when you work best), but that also means we have 2 sometimes 3 classes in the middle of the day...

I should file a lawsuit against the Department of Education for ruining my life as I couldn't do well in school because I started too early.

She said "science has your back" like the U.S. is going to listen. We're still getting up at 7-8 am this coming school year. Don't hold your breath!

I've started school at 11 AM before - it was awesome and my grades improved greatly, as did my motivation to go to school.

EVERYONE SHOULD START EVERYTHING MUCH MUCH LATER.  9 o'clock? That's still fucking early!!  Schools should start at 11 am.

University happened and I've been picking all afternoon classes. Hooray no more waking up at 6 am!

Except now 6 am becomes bed time, and noon is the new morning. True story.

Studying while the sun is shining outside will never be good for kids.

This study seems to assume that there's a correlation between school start times and the governments desire to benefit students. Schools start the time that they do because it works nicely for the corporate work schedule.

Waking up at 5:00 AM everyday was like working a job, which in retrospect ended up helping me after highschool. Much more than anything i learned while there. For the most part.

Go Falcons!
