The song is about a homeless vet that Eddie knew back in the day near their practice facility.

If you haven’t already listen to their song called Black, it’s amazing

Pearl Jam are great musicians/artists, but moreover even better humanitarians. Check out their depth. Be well from Canada.

I got to see them my senior year of high school in Lawrence, KS in 1992! Eddie climbed the stage and freaked us all out.

Every song off of this album (Ten) is a masterpiece. Like you said, no weak points 👍👍👍

Pearl Jam has always been one of my favorite bands. The coolest thing about about Pearl Jam, is they do something I don't think any other group does. If you go to their concert, you get a website to go to, and you can download the live performance of the show you went to.

This just takes me back to the best parts of my younger life. Being part of the Grunge Scene gave all of us who grew up in the Pacific Northwest a musical identity ways we had never had before. There is just so much good music from this time. Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Mother Love Bone, Temple of the Dog, Nirvana, Alice in Chains...I still go back to that music nearly every day.

He has such a distinct voice! 90’s grunge rules. I’m soooo glad you react to and appreciate this genre!

The song is live but the video is cut out of different performances. It's a weird case of it being the actual official video for the song, but it's a live version of the song instead of the original studio version off the album, and the footage of the video is cut from different shows and not just the one that matches the audio. The song itself is about homelessness, people who fall through the cracks.

eddie is one of those gems that just sounds as good in studio as in live... maybe a bit more breath shorted live, but he can still reach them notes

Eddie's voice is this good all the time. All the time. He has really chilled out in his older age and is one of the few dudes who survived that era of heroin and addiction. Not sure if he was ever into that, but he survived when so many of his peers have not.

This album was almost as much of a rock revolution as Nirvana's Nevermind. But this is the album that blew my hair back.

Black, I think you did already. Other songs:

Wish List
WMA
Daughter
Given to Fly
Jeremy
Once
Last Kiss
Alive
Nothingman

And on it goes -- they have 25 years of music for you to dig into, never mind their endless and awesome cover songs, like Every Day by the Hollies. Eddie doing cover songs.

That's the album version of the song -- not sure it's live, but the live versions sound like that too!

And when I saw you had this song listed tonight, I was like, "All right -- JV's gonna finally GET Pearl Jam tonight. NOW he's gonna start digging into them." Because there's no way you hear Evenflow without that reaction. :)

Temple of the dog was more of a project between Pearl Jam and Soundgarden.

I can still remember the first time I heard their album "Ten" (right when it came out). My roommate had bought the CD. He put it in and we couldn't turn it off until it played in its entirety.

The origins of Pearl Jam was Mother Love Bone. Check out Cloe Dancer/ Crown of Thorns. It's history.

Eddie Vedder is a Chicagoan, though he lived for a while in San Diego. I’ve seen Pearl Jam twice at Wrigley Field - such a treat! Eddie loves the Cubs! Pearl Jam even recorded an album, “Let’s Play Two” (a quote from Ernie Banks, famous Cubs player) at Wrigley. ❤️❤️

Legend has it that ''josh'' never worked in the light again, instead confining himself to darkness so that he could forever observe the lesson he learned on that fateful night. Life is not a TV show

I remember when kids drew the pearl jam peace sign on their binders when I was in school in the 90s. Oh the memories...

Pearl Jam can do soft acoustic stuff as well as rockers. Sign of a good band. Most do one or the other.
