The City i live in is not oriented towards the future, there isnt enough parking spots for everyone, ppl park their cars on "sidewalks" theres a few gas stations and a very small amount of charging spots, the "swap stations" would b a great solution.

Hi Marcel, again great video… At the end, it’s quite simple, you have just to compare this with iPhones: you buy the next generation because the battery is not working as it should or because of new technologies… and NIO is going this way. You can exchange your battery whenever you want, you can upload the new technologies they have… NIO to the starts!

Battery swap is the same as refueling your car. So I think the adoption is going to increase because we only had charging or supercharging. Sinopac and even Shell is seeing this.. Swapping stations can be used for many partners (IKEA) or solutions.. Won't surprise me if we hear Mc Donalds soon.

With standardization comes the issue of proprietary battery technology !!! Does that imply that even as the swapping technology is standard, but the actual battery will stay proprietary to each brand ? Does that imply that the battery station will need to store different battery brands for swapping accordingly to different EV brands . eg Nio vs Xpend vs Byd ? Does that defeat the purpose of standardization ? How can each car brand differentiate their battery technology from each other in a world where swapping becomes ubiquitous and standardized or even commoditized ? For example if Tesla decide to join the swapping band wagon, how does its 4860 battery tech get implemented and swapped vs other battery techs ?

Battery swapping is essential for Chinese cities where parking space is scarce and charging space will never keep up with the demand from fast increasing EV growth. A swap station takes about 4 parking space and can fully recharge a car every 5 min (technically) while a parking space needs at least 30 min to half charge a car.
