For me this song is the definitive 80's synth song and I would play it at my funeral

Love it! For me, Axel F is just the coolest tune ever written. It's perfect.

This is the track that started my 12" single collection. There was a local station that played a lot of remixes, I caught the beginning of this one and when I realized it was an extended mix I had to listen to the whole thing, even though I would be late for the movie I was going downtown to watch. I went into the Musicland store in the mall and pored through the Phonolog catalog (remember that?) to try to find it. Took almost half an hour, it was the B-side of Patti LaBelle's New Attitude 12". Now I have 3 copies. My favorite 12" single. Got about 70 in my collection.

Here I am in my 80s sweatshirt and pants, listening to my retro music pretending it's the 80s, vibing and moving along to slick funky best 80s film theme ever.

Used to mix this tune with Paul Hardcastle's "nineteen" and other tunes in the 80's.
