THE "MASTER CHIM LETTER":

I was fortunate to get Matt vs Japan to join me for a great talk that touched on not only his Refold Method of language acquisition, but to explore the world of language learning and many of the pitfalls and hiccups language learners encounter along the way.

As someone who's already familiar with Matt's work, I think this is my new favorite interview of Matt. I love your energy together and all the anecdotes relating to martial arts.

This is by far the best interview w/ Matt I've seen. You give him plenty of room to explain his concepts and add in really well with your martial arts concepts. Keep it up!

Honestly I've been following Matt's content for so long I know everything he's gonna say inside-out, but just something about the way you did this interview, your personality it makes for such an entertaining viewing experience. I loved all your analogies and parallels, personal insights, etc. Best of luck in your Portuguese journey!

Found you from Matt's side of youtube. I just wanted to say this was a really enjoyable interview. I loved hearing your breakdown of the fundamentals of martial arts as it relates to language learning. Great video.

This was an incredible interview! Not many people can really ask the right questions to get the most that Matt has to offer and you did that! Bravo!

I’ve heard this breakdown form Matt plenty of times elsewhere but your personality kept me engaged the whole time! And that’s saying a lot considering it’s almost 3 am and I’m fighting to stay awake till I finish the whole thing 😅😆

You guys seem so different on the surface so it's cool to see how easily you two connected. Watching opposites connect so well is fun. Great video.

"Tolerating Ambiguity" - of the many helpful concepts from this interview, this was #1 for me. It's so easy to focus on what you can't do or understand instead of celebrating what you can do or understand. And that frustration can easily lead to giving up. Thank you both for this useful conversation!

That was a very educating conversation, I really enjoyed listening to this. I See that you want watch anime. I highly reccommend kengan ashura its about mix martial arts and the animation is cool, and hajime no ippo this anime about boxing.

Based on my experience learning Brazilian Portuguese to an advanced level where I was often taken for a local, Pimsleur will of course do very little in terms of actual vocabulary acquisition but it's really helpful if you use it for accent training. That's just literally months worth of high-fidelity audio content for practicing your accent and that kickstarted my whole journey where first I was able to get myself perceived as a local (or, initially, someone from a different state in Brazil), but the hillbilly sort due to my then broken grammar and limited vocab. Which is still better than being treated as a foreigner as you get a lot of authentic exposure to their culture this way. All in all, Brazilians are so eager to communicate with people of any skill level in Portuguese that just living there for a few months will make you progress in leaps and bounds - something that imagine would never happen on its own in a country like Japan

I wonder how matt doesn't lose his mind having to diagloue tree so many conversations cause he always gets asked the same questions. He could probably give the big red dog example in his sleep.

I'm learning English and I don't understand how you use the word "offset" that you use so many times in your speech. What does it mean? ... Thank you !!!
