Wow, this is such a pretty crazy content. It's quite hard to fathom that there's a person like you that existed in this world and possessing that kind of deep knowledge about such complex matter. Damn Matt! You can publish your own book.

I discovered how to get good at things by playing Dota 2. Since it's a game, it tracks players stats, like the number of hours played.

I noticed how players that would do nothing except play the game were actually pretty bad for the amount of hours they played. But on the other hand, those who watched competitive games, match analysis, and tried to mimic the professionals would evolve much faster. But as expected, there were no replace for practice, the best players were those who played the game more, and also were smart with their practice.

In summary, the best players practiced more than anyone else, but not everybody who practiced a lot were actually good.

This is one of the problems I have been having. I get torn between actually studying japanese and studying how to study Japanese because I dont want to waste time studying in an ineffective way but if I spend too much time watching videos about how to study I wont learn any Japanese.

Really cool video because it agrees with the way I view books vs experience. Could be applied to knowledge on anything in general. Many things have a duality in them because a duality can point two both sides of the spectrum in which things vary within reality. It's why I like daoism so much.
