Once you have a working solderless breadboard prototype of your project, you can make it smaller, more durable, and more permanent by translating your project to a solder-type breadboard. In this video, Becky walks through the process for mapping and building a soldered circuit.

Great video Becky - and thanks for including a TinyPICO!

This is my next step. Moving to a solder-type breadboard seems like a good first try at making something permanent. I have way too many solderless breadboard projects just sitting in my lab. I need those breadboards back for my new projects, but I hate dismantling past projects. I just don't want to give them up. Thanks for the great video!

I have been using this technique since the 1980s. Love it that you are bringing these training skills to a new generation. Keep up the good work. PS: I now work in Hardware at a big box retialer, but have mentioned DigiKey to customers needing information on special projects.

You are just what I'm looking for. Wow! Now I don't feel so bad for dropping out of the EE program a number of decades ago. Thanks for the straightforward and clearly explained process of getting my Arduino project into a form I can actually use. You've got a new subscriber. :)

I bought custom PCBs from three companies.
DigiReds are the best!

Faster to arrive too!

If when you are developing your circuit on a solderless breadboard you are pretty sure you will later want to move it to a solder-type breadboard I saw an interesting tip. Get a solder-type breadboard with the same layout as your solderless breadboard and place the solder-type board on top of the solderless board with the holes aligned. Insert things into the solderless breadboard through the holes of the solder-type breadboard.

Then when you have it working solderless you just have to lift the solder-type breadboard off and the components come with it, already in their proper places ready to solder. Just be careful to tape them down so they don't all fall out when you turn the board over for soldering.

No solder was harmed in the making of this video!

It's a nice video, but it's a shame you didn't mention our Proto-Series of prototyping boards such as the Proto-Hald or Proto-Full, nor our Proto-Shield. All are available on DK ;)

How do you actually provide electricity to your perfboard?

OMG! Was watching the King's Men movie and they had a half inch by half inch PCB board with maybe 4 resistors and I said the exact same thing. That board doesn't do shiat!

The 'L' in solder is pronounced.

Your 5 minute YouTube advertisement interrupted my viewing pleasure. To let you know I pressed the skip ad button in of a second. Why a five minute advert video? Tv adverts are not even a 1 minute 30 seconds.
