The reason you put a skull in a grave to get webber is a direct refrence to how you unlock him in the orignal verison of dont starve, you kill spiders until the drop his skull, then you bury it in a grave, after doing so lightning strikes te grave and webber comes out letting you play as him in future playthroughs
