The Coolest Heavy Tank

The American T26E1-1 or Super Pershing is one of the most interesting tank concepts ever fielded during WWII. It is an M26 that has an upgraded cannon and wears the armor of a German Panther tank. In War Thunder it is pretty amazing, though I wouldn't say it's better than the T26E5.

The t26e1-1 is actually a t26e4 with the t15e1 gun rather than the standard 15e2 that most t26e4s used. The reason so many people try to claim its a t26e1-1 is because that was the hull number. It was the very first t26e1, and it was converted into the very first t26e4. All later 26e4s used the second version of the cannon.

To be totally fair the first Pershings brought to fight in Korea had been left sitting in open-salt air storage sheds in Japan since 1945. The fact that they got restored to running condition so fast with minimum spare parts is, imo, impressive. Sure the radiators were clogged like a fat guy at McDonalds, but they held up for a day or two!

2:42 I am not sure why all the tank designers didn't put rolled homogeneous steel aside and just make all their tank armor out of the glass that optics are made of. According to the snail, that stuff will stop any round you throw at it.

The jumbo pershing and the super pershing are really fun. Its a shame that the normal pershing is at the same br as the other two

Friendly reminder, you have less pen, 5-6 second longer reload, slower Velocity, worse Armour than a King Tiger but are the exact same BR.

But you look infinitely cooler, checkmate.

0:20 It also had add-on armor from a boiler placed on it. I believe the "ears" of the Super Pershing are what the boiler was used for.
