Top 3 Most Powerful Tanks

With Western tanks now on their way to Ukraine, here’s our list of the three most powerful tanks in service today.

Number one: The General Dynamics M1A2 Abrams.

Number two: The Korean K2 Black Panther

South Korea’s entry is the dark horse on our list. Coming in at a spry 55 tons, what the advanced Black Panther lacks in weight it makes up for in maneuverability and capability. An added plus: it was designed to ford bodies of water twice as tall as the tank itself. Did someone order a submarine with their tank?

Number three: The German Leopard 2

Sorry Brits, the Leopard is simply Europe’s best tank. Agile and accurate, the German tank boasts an insane fire control stabilization system on par with the Abrams—meaning it can easily hit targets…at night…on the move…through smoke.

The fact that not a single challenger was lost to enemy fire is enough to make it one of the best. The only unfortunate incident was a blue on blue, destroyed due to the crew having the hatch open.

Not on the list, but one of my favorite tanks is the M41A1 Walker Bulldog, an American light tank. It can fire APDS rounds, has neutral steering, and is generally a fast tank.

For Ukraine, the best tank of the 3 is the German Leopard 2. Not because the Abrams or Korean tanks are bad, but Leopard 2 was designed for battle in Europe, unlike the Korean tank, whose mobility is likely better suited for a more mountainous terrain.
The Abrams is a pretty good tank as well, and offer a lot of crew protection, but do suffer from it's engine, creating a lot of IR/thermal signature, this makes it extremely easy to spot with modern cameras. The main issue for the tank in Europe is that there isn't as large a stock to take from as the Leopard 2, Leopard 1 and the Challenger II tanks, however the Challenger if supplied should use the smooth bore 120mm barrel upgrade package, so ammo is the same across all the tanks.

I'd say the best is the Leopard 2, not because it's the best at anything, but because it's very good at everything. The Leopard 2 is a 9/10 in probably every area, whereas the Challenger for example may be a 10/10 in protection/armor, tho only a 6 or 7 in speed/agility. And the newest Leopard 2's, the A7, A7+, A7V take probably a 10/10 at something too even.
