One tip if you're grinding IS-3 and you're stuck on the IS tank, use the 100mm gun instead of the 122mm gun, you gain more gun depression, accuraci, DPM, gold pen (standard one is the same 175 mm) on exchange of the alpha, its just so much consistent and reliable choice over the D-25T gun

Aim time is horrendous on this tank and that's killing it often times, it only makes sense to go for stabilizer on it but it won't improve the gun handling that much overall... is-3 is not the most mobile among t8 heavy meta and by far doesn't have the most reliable armor anymore. Furthermore, dpm on is-3 is far from great compared to many if not most t8 heavy tanks which in total doesn't leave much freedom of decision concerning equipment because the cons when for example using a turbo on it far outweigh the pros. Overall, it's still a capable performer if played right but there is nothing left of the fear factor it had in the past and all in all today's is-3 is a shadow of its former self. In the same way, this explains why the MOE requirements are that low for is-3.

problem with high tier mm is too much autoloaders even ht with autoloaders can end ur full hp into seconds. i love my is3 since 2011 but the autoloader meta destroyed the single shot, head on tradings between heavies

IS3 in my opinion is IDEAL tank for everyone, i remember when i had tournament and ppl is using is3 and T32 as the heavy tank and i love both of the tanks..

WG really REALLY over sauced the sigma on the is-3 gun. Dispersion doesn't matter, if nearly all the shots go to the centre with the rare flyer to its edge. That's why they hide the stat server side, if they showed it, like in WoWs, everyone would lose their crap.

Is3 is one of few old tanks who are still meta. Recently i was talking with friend about that. Tank is good balanced. Not even years of putting op tanks didnt break him too much to lost race with new tanks. I think is3 should be most played tier 8 tank since beta test.

It's not because it's the most played tech tree heavy tank recently that it is the prefered one. People grind tanks to get to the T10 (which are 277 and IS-7 for IS-3 => those are some classics T10 heavy tanks). 277 is usually grinded for CW and skirmish. IS-7 is usually the first line to grind for a new player.

IS3 is the last true survivor of the golden age of WoT in my opinion. Back when the Tiger 2 used to feel like a tiger when It was actually kinda scary to come across. But now it's just IS3 defending the sacred days of old

I remember years and years ago when I got the IS3 long before the artillery nerf, I really got to know what separated good artillery players from the bad ones. The good ones would focus me under a microscope and just make life miserable in general for a heavy tank player. But playing the IS3 you start to see why it is so important to makes its life as miserable as possible during a game lol.

IS-3 is tier 4 in AW. Gun still hits hard but the only thing it can do with reasonable speed is go straight forward. But its armor works well with even tier MM.

i saw the title and assumed is-3 simply because the tree splits and you have to grind 2 tanks with this. thank god the is3 isnt too shabby
