Very in depth. Love learning about these engines. The wrong adjustments and they run away. Well, Detroits don't run away, the mechanics do.

GREAT JOB!!!! When I grow up I want too be just like you....When we get ours 671 ready to start we should do a live feed and you can help us on our channel ...That might be fun if we can figure it out....I wish you were my neighbor....

Found a 4-53 locally that I will be checking out in the next week. What are the main things to check before buying one? Complete engine that was in older excavator and has hydraulic pumps geared to flywheel. Has been stored inside.

You say that the guys that know these engines are thin on the ground but there is at least one guy doing his best to preserve the knowledge (if it's not the electronic version) that's the Bus Grease Monkey.
