Rafale is good, a 4.5 gen aircraft with modern avionics. IAF should not diversify its fleet more.

The US has become very unpredictable while france remains a reliable partner. This is a very important factor in India choosing rafales over other fighter jets.

The most rational thing government has done if this is the case

Hope this is the last over the shelf deal for fighter aircraft, and its all indigenous hereon.

Bravo! India will import the most expensive 4.5th-generation fighter in the 2030s, when China would be inducting 6th-generation fighters. That's great foresight by the government and forces!!

If g2g was going to be the solution, why did we lose so much time and money conducting unnecessary competition "trials" for the whole MRCA fiasco?

Very good decision. Instead of running behind pseudo 5th gen or fighters from unreliable partners this will bring much needed commonality .

That Rafale Marine is purchased, does not mean we are going for MRFA Rafale. Let us be clear about this, as there is no such decision. MRFA will take a lot of time before which Tejas II and even AMCA will be ready!!! he! he!!

Sir what is the current update on this news

The rafale already has a lot of orders from many other countries so I don't know if the orders can be fulfilled on time looking at their lack of capacity. If India orders 114 jets then the government needs to ensure that the plant to come up in India

Rafael’s can be built in India, even partially assembled.

Europe should outsource 80% of its re-armament manufacturing to India. At a time it is struggling financially, it will get more bang for buck, secure a strategic multilateral partner 1000miles away (no geopolitical risk) and India will get manufacturing. Win-win for both. Great reporting by Print, first to break i believe!

If the prices are gonna be the same, then its gonna be around 30 billion G2G deal.

The right decision and the most ideal choice at this time for India.👍
