Thank you so much. I have DR that is the "Old Grand Dame" of my collection. Huge base, 3.5ft tall. She got root rot when I put her in a new pot 😱 She's hard as a rock, except one big root. I'll take your amazing advice and perform surgery to save her. Thank you, thank you Doctor!

Ty, so much, Maria. I have recently discovered my love of desert roses and I found two with remarkable color. One is a deep purple and the other is, red with black edges. I’m still learning to care for them, but afraid they may need some tic because their trunks are getting a bit soft. Ty, for showing me that they can likely be saved, if the root rot is the issue, but hasn’t spread too much. This gives me a great sense of relief. Ty.

I use a bread knife and a small fruit knife for my pruning. Stainless steel and easy to clean. I'm just starting to repot and shape my few plants and I'm excited to see if I succeed. I'm happy to see you chopping out bad bits on the plant. I've been too delicate 😂

I’m so trying this right now, the previous owners put a dessert rose on a drip irrigation system and I was thinking this whole time it was cause the frost. But now 🏃🏼‍♀️ 💨 I think the roots are being compromised by all the water. Glad I came across your channel.
