Lauren’s promise:

I PROMISE TO:
Listen and believe you if someone is threatening you

Represent a safe haven for sharing incidents of sexual assault, domestic violence, or stalking

Change campus culture that responds poorly to dating violence and stalking.

❤️

The cops that dropped the ball so hard don't even have the decency to do the death notification? They have her running coach do it?! My blood is boiling.

This case happened while my husband was attending the same university. What Unseen left out of this video is that not only did the campus AND city police do NOTHING, but officers actually SHARED REVENGE PORN OF LAUREN AFTER HER MURDER. That is what the bill her parents created detailed. It is sick and makes me so ashamed of our local authorities.

The university of Utah failed her, the campus security failed her, and the salt lake city police failed her...Too bad all these people can't be held accountable in some way... Rip Lauren🕊️😢... Sucks that it always takes a person's life, or lives, to implement change for the better smdh...

“My ex bf who I learned lied about his age, is a registered sex offender and on parole is harassing and stalking me.”
Police: Ok we’ll call you.
They should all be fucking ashamed. This really did not have to happen.

I just knew the university would say “there is nothing we could have done differently.” What a bunch of cowards

If the police had done their jobs and taken this seriously, she would still be alive 😠

19:15 I started tearing up with her. The pain in her voice is heartbreaking. Shame on the police for not taking her claims seriously until she was gone. They had weeks to help her, *save* her. Rest in peace, Lauren. ❤🕊🌹🤍

This is not even the first time this has happened. This has happened multiple times, to multiple women over multiple areas. The cops don’t listen. The school doesn’t listen, the investigators don’t listen. Sex offenders should never leave a prison cell. I don’t care who you are.

The cops will arrest you if you drive 5mph above speed limit, but this girl is literally begging for help but the cops didn't do anything

Because of cases like this, I’ve told my daughters I’d rather you defend yourself *by any means* necessary and risk going to jail, than you waiting for police protection and risking your life. Too many women die trying to do it the “right” way.

That’s how this country’s police is… nothing gets done until it’s too late. Rest Her Soul.

The fact that the police continuously dismissed her pleas for help is patronizing and repulsive. It's like they were practically waiting for something bad to happen to her to then finally pick up the case. They should all face consequences. She probably would've been alive right now had they done their job correctly.

It's disgusting how the police ignored her cries for help and eventually she was killed due to their neglect, rest in peace Lauren

My wife had a stalker when she worked at a gas station years back. The guy was very creepy and would follow her home and watch us through our windows while we would eat and sleep. Eventually he tried to escalate and told her that he wanted to kidnap her next time she took out the trash and asked her if she had ever been kidnapped. When we went to court to file a restraining order when he came to court he lost his mind and was screaming at the judge saying they are out to get him. It didn’t take a week for him to break the restraining order and he was arrested outside our house he started screaming that my wife wasn’t who she said she was and kept saying she was a killer and she was the girl who drove drunk and killed 2 people(this was a high profile case that happened in our state a couple years ago) the man was absolutely delusional stalkers are absolutely dangerous and should be treated with extreme care

This is ridiculous, I couldn’t imagine having to contact the police ONCE let alone 20 + times including going in person. Shame on them, I hope this keeps them up at night. No women should have to practically beg police officers and campus security to take her life seriously. Rip angel your parents are doing an amazing job in your memory.

Every single person that let this poor girl down needs to be held accountable.

Her death was so preventable, nobody should have to beg the police that many times to be helped. Police that are supposed to be protectors! I’m grateful to her parents for working so hard in the face of such heartbreak to make sure what happened to their daughter doesn’t have to happen to anyone else.
