The cop sat down with Joe and explained why it was his own fault that he was handcuffed. Unbelievable!

I tweeted to US Bank that apology is NOT ACCEPTED until manager is fired. This isn't a problem with training. It's a problem with disregard for this man's humanity. Even this report left out the worst part that the manager LIED that they had already called the employer WHEN THEY HAD NOT. They only called the employer after he was handcuffed.

That manager should be fired, and he should also be charge with giving the police false information because he lied to the cops that he already called the mans employer.

Manager called the police for a fake check before verifying with the company that the check was real or fake. He checked after Morrow was in handcuffs and it turns out it was real. This is cut and dry racism, and the bank ended up settling with Morrow for it.

In other words, "now we are catching backlash from this report so we are going to address the issue instead of defending against the accusations."

I'm not even satisfied with that branch manager being fired. I want HIM handcuffed and detained for some time. This is not acceptable.

I closed my account with US Bank because of this

It was so easy for the bank to confirm this gus check was legit. These people need to remember that even though there are individuals that abuse the system, you cannot blame ALL because you are too tired or apathetic.

Bottom Line: "We are sorry we got caught. We will try and train our racist employees better, so as not to get caught again." We will not fire, discipline or in any other way punish the manager, unless we suffer a monetary loss.

Interesting comments below. This bank went FAR beyond not believing the check was legit. This kid had an account with this bank. They basically called their client a thief...and called the police on him. This wasn't a mistake. This was willful, disrespectful and degrading. This is what anti-Blackness looks like.

the "apology" was a cynical PR move, The CEO takes full responsibility and signs an NDA agreement that stipulates no further comment. Oh, and this happened a year ago and only now with the police bodycams being public through the Freedom of Information Act

Yea, The CEO takes responsbility only after the outrage got too hot

The Manager called the police before he called the employer.

1 phone call could have cleared the check. Manager needs to get his ass fired.

A public 'We're sorry that you caught us' sounds about right. Though it seems to be the only cost for the embarrassment and humiliation to this man. Its too bad there isnt a fine based on the number of clicks a pair of handcuffs makes.

They aren't defending how they treated them because there's video proof they were wrong, I swear people are going to have to start wearing body cams everywhere.
