I paid $474.81 for a first-class ticket from the west coast to Maui. That ticket tripled in price by the month the flight departed. This is how I get cheap tickets to Hawaii.

To get cheap tickets to Hawaii, follow these 5 steps when booking your flight:

1. Use an incognito window (3:26 minutes)
2. Search on Skyscanner for price comparisons (5:20 minutes)
3. Fly from the cheapest city (7:15 minutes)
4. Search on Southwest’s Low Fare Calendar (9:53 minutes)
5. Book when airlines offer the cheapest flights to Hawaii (flash sales) (10:35 minutes)

I flew first-class because it was such a good deal. I don’t always fly home to Maui first-class but I may continue with all the cheap tickets to Hawaii.

Take advantage of the cheap flights by following the 5 steps below to get cheap tickets to Hawaii.

We just booked our flights to Oahu and Maui yesterday. Coming from Utah, we have the ability to fly direct on Delta. But by doing some research, we were able to book flights from Utah to Oakland on Delta, then fly Hawaiian (which we absolutely love and prefer anyway...why not start the Aloha 6 hours before you get to Hawaii, right :D) round trip from Oakland with one inter-island flight in the middle of our trip. We're going first class the whole way and by shopping around were able to cut our entire flying cost for the whole trip by over $2, 000 over just the simple nonstop on Delta from Utah. It always pays to do a little homework...

Just a little FYI for those shopping around on Hawaiian...I've found that LAX and SFO are typically the more expensive airports, but they typically have more direct flight options (especially LAX). OAK seems to typically be the lowest priced option, but can be more limited on direct flights

My advice for cheap tickets, go to Slickdeals and then go to the Travel section. Keep checking every few days and within a week or two, you will find an amazing deal. SD is community driven, not company driven like Expedia, Priceline, etc. So the deals are vetted and critiqued by members. I have booked deals that were less than $200 RT from west coast (LAX/SFO/SJC/PDX/SEA). Bonus tip: if you find a good deal on SW, and are a Costco member, make sure to buy their $500 GC for $450 and use that when booking.

What is the cheapest day of the week to book your flight? Should I book on a Tuesday? I think I missed this part in your video.
