Business owners and residents in affluent West London are beginning to board up their windows in preparation for the infamous Notting Hill Carnival.

Pictures depict properties being boarded up in preparation for the two-day event, expected to draw 2 million people this weekend, sparking questions about whether the event should be relocated entirely.

Alex Phillips clashes with campaigner Ken Hinds over moving the Notting Hill Carnival to Hyde Park so that residents would not be 'disturbed'.

I'm black and live in Ladbroke Grove...I go away every year Carnival is on. People knocking your door to use toilets..People trying to roll joints in my garden..People knocking my door to use my toilet...plenty of the residents hate it. Black and white.
