This man should not blame himself for missing the signs, I lived next door to some one who committed a double murder and am attempted murder on a family his in a mental hospital now being held indefinitely, but yea throughout the years he did some very odd and strange things that we never really thought to much off as he was know to smoke drugs so we just put his weird behaviours down to that
One of them we believed was killing his own cat
One day he came to our house asking if we heard anything the night before because he woke up with blood all over his walls we didn't think much of it again because he was a drug addict and a bit weird anyways, a few days later he mentions that his cat is missing, for some reason we didn't put the 2 together at that time, like 3 days later we find the cat with it's guys torn out inside of a bush that sits directly under his bedroom window, again we didn't add the 3 things together and thought a fox got the cat but yea after what he did we suddenly came to the conclusion that he killed the cat in his room hence why his room was covered in blood and then threw/dropped it out the window in to the bush below, he also had a dog that randomly died and the vets said it must have choked on something but they couldn't find what it choked on at the time we though nothing off it but again now we feel like he strangled his dog to death and some how passed it of as his dog choked on something

It's very easy to miss or disregard the signs or to even pass them of as oh his just an odd person or they are on drugs so they just say/do weird things let's just ignore them and not take them seriously and so on until its to late so I honastly hope his family and the people who knew him didn't/don't put any blame or guilt on to them self's for not acting on or not seeing the sighns any sooner as this is something that most people would have not picked up on until after the tragic events that happend

Why did he NOT take him to a Child Psychologist or Psychiatrist? 😢

A k then therapy was a very new thing that wasn’t accepted a lot of the time. His father is so remorseful for Jeff’s victims as well as for Jeff himself. That within itself makes him a good person.

So if you show signs of enjoying hunting animals or doing your own butchering watch out! Everyone thinks you're a murderer now.

I wonder what he would have done differently as a parent in hindsight. I wish he’d share that so if there are parents who are noticing this behavior in there children now they might do what he would suggest knowing what he knows now.

I thought his father seemed nice and a calm person, it's a shame he couldn't help his son before all that happened🖤

How could anyone at that time possibly conceive clues that would lead to Dhamer's crimes? His crimes are absolutely unthinkable to most normal people.

Back then you would chalk it up to someone like that being odd or simply curious. And sometimes you would think well this person will make a good scientist or surgeon. That's honestly what people thought in those days, you didn’t see red flags as you do today. I can't imagine the pain this man goes through on a daily basis, thinking of what could have happened had he questioned the behavior. 😢

Stop interviewing this man. He had a sick son. They need to be forgotten about. Those men he took away could’ve been doctors, lawyers, employees, husbands and good friends
