I am so happy you helped! You should mark the tops to make sure that they stay in the same position. I hope they survive and cant wait for more updates ❤️❤️❤️

Use a flashlight to check embryo position, so they don't get compressed in their own weight( as mentioned in a video by mjanro snake lab for snake eggs)

The denting could be from dehydration. (Or damage from the attack) if it doesn’t pop up again in a day or so, you can put a damp paper towel over the egg, then remove when the dent is gone. Thanks for saving them and Good luck!

Make sure the Tupperware stays at a good temperature! I don't know the exact temperature for snapping turtles (though google would probably know) but room temperature, even near a window and heated fishtank, may be too cold

Also a good trick is to mark the very top of the eggs with a Sharpie, just a dot on each egg will do, it will tell you if any of the eggs have rolled in the container. Then you can manually adjust them if needed whilst knowing they're all still facing the same way 😊

So happy he decided to save them. This Chanel has definitely been helpful the past few days. My fish that I’ve had for about a year just passed away because of some infection. I haven’t even been able to turn off her bubbles or the filter. I can’t sleep without the sound of the bubbles and the filter at night 😢

definitely make sure you mark the tops ASAP! i research a lot about snakes but the sentiment rings true for turtles, if it is rotated the baby WILL die because the yolk can drown it, great job and placing them how you found them though! it's better safe than sorry with marking, though.

Thank you for caring. Today most would not care in real time. You bring hope for Nature.

I don’t know about you guys, but I think this could be the start of a new era for this channel….

Awww I can't wait to see the lil snappers when they hatch! I bet they'll be just as cute as little Raph, the baby dnapping turtle I saved as a kid while on a walk. He was the most chill snapping turtle I ever met, he just sat in my hand and never tried to bite or snap at me once. I hope he's doing well, and staying away from the walking path and bike trail :)

I remember Snake Discovery had a video about saving turtle eggs a few years ago. I highly recommend checking out both the egg video and the hatching one. They have some great tips on what you should do.

One thing I remember off the top of my head is that you may have to get a permit to do this depending on where you live. Also I would recommend looking up advice for incubating snapper eggs (based on the video I mentioned before where some of those eggs were snappers too) to make sure you’re doing the right stuff

We had a snapping turtle lay eggs in my childhood sandbox. We didn’t use it for a while. Little while later there were a TON! We helped them get to the nearest pond because there were a couple roads they had to get across to the nearest one. Was a really cool experience and looking forward to see this new journey!

Thank you so much for not trashing them! Hopefully they hatch healthfully and grow into happy turtles!

Snappers are an amazing turtle species and they are incredibly hardey so you don't need to be worried when releasing them back into the wild (it's preferred not to release them all in the same pond)

I know nothing about turtles - but I know about snakes. Be careful, DONT ROTATE, make sure the embryo is facing up, keep them still, and be very careful with mold?

Not sure if its exactly like snakes, but its similar maybe. But good luck!

Edit: rotating, like snakes, kill them when the embryo is facing down. A quick sharpie mark on the top can help avoid this. If you mess up, use a flashlight to find the embryo at the top. Yes, dont let them touch the sides. Water makes them mold. Its had to be humid, but not touching water. Some people use a grid, but the soil should work to hold em. Be careful with the moss. Wrap on the top can help too.

I'm aware you already got most of your info, but I really like snakes and I've seen some nice tips with reptile eggs, so i thought I'd add.

Another edit: seems well so far! Exactly like snake eggs. Keep the temp stable, keep up the watering/misting, watch for mold, and goodluck. Use a flashlight to check growth if you want. I recommend marking them on the top still

Omg!!! Please keep us updated on these lil babies!!! Perhaps there is a local herpetologist that can take them for you, and send you updates? Just an idea, as I’d not know the first thing to do with turtle eggs!
