I love how Emily is going through explaining why the deformed one wouldn't survive in the wild while Ed just keeps interjecting with essentially "But he's a good boy!"

Seeing Ed becoming less and less camera shy honestly just makes me so happy. We love you, Ed! Also, Ed and Emily work so well together, seriously!

UPDATE: The deformed turtle, Quasimodo (that's his name), was recently confirmed to be alive and growing, although not really growing bigger. This was confirmed by Emily and Ed themselves in the past livestream.

EDIT: Emily and Ed confirmed on a livestream around a year ago that Quasimodo has unfortunately passed away.

I appreciate the fact you guys returned the dead one too. People always ask me to remove dead snakes from their yards and I usually move it to a more natural area where they can decompose naturally.

Sad to see some of the eggs not make it, however it's incredible that any survived considering what happened to the eggs. Not going to lie, those baby turtles were so cute I'd want to keep one of each however they belong in the wild and should always stay in the wild. Good job Emily <3

The fact that you post so frequently AND are working on your own facility... truly amazing and we are grateful as fans 😭❤️

I hope the deformed one makes it, and if it does, like everyone else is saying, it could be a great example of why you shouldn't let people act rudely towards nature. And, I know you probably won't name the deformed baby yet, in case it dies, but if your open to ideas, you could name it Bunker. Idk why but i thought it was a good name for him/her.

Emily: We're not totally sure he'll make it, but Ed's trying his best...

Us: PROTECT THAT BABY AT ALL COSTS

Is it possible he has eyes and his eyelids just grew permanently closed over them? i know its probably not likely, the thought just occurred to me when yall said he can still "blink"

Little Eyeless Ed... in honor of nearly headless Nick and of Ed who's soft heart went out to this tiny turtle.

I didn't expect the deformed baby to make it. It looks like it's doing well, all things considered. I'm suprised it's moving around so well. Too bad more didn't make it, I really expected the club tailed baby to survive, especially compared to the really badly deformed one it looked like it was okay. But I guess that's hard to tell from just watching the video. I'm glad at least some made it, and I hope the blind baby will be fine :)

I love how Ed took this responsibility for caring for the deformed baby. It is so sweet, and I am so glad he didn't give up on him. Thank you, Ed!

I'm so surprised that one that was moving in the shell never hatched. I guess it had an underdeveloped egg tooth? Glad some of them made it though!

If the deformed baby makes it, do you think you would keep them since Ed loves them? If so they might be good to use in education programs about pollution and stuff 🤔

First a blind garter snake, then a blind rainbow boa, and now a blind snapping turtle. You guys are BESB for reptiles!

Seriously, though, I hope the little snapper makes it. And please let us know even if he/she doesn’t.

Well done by everyone involved in saving those turtles! Those young girls should be commended for stepping up and doing the right thing. Also a special shout out to Ed for not giving up on the little special needs snapper! We have a Crested Gecko who had a spinal issue when we bought him at the reptile store. He is over a year old now and going strong. He can now use his rear legs and climb to the top of 24" tall enclosure. You just never know!

Please update us if he does pass away! Poor little guy. Hopefully he makes it! He seems to be doing great!

Emily: should we just cull him?
Ed: but I MIGHT be fine, you never know!
I just found it funny how Ed seemed so offended. 😂
