I'll show you how to make the best homemade garlic bread from scratch! Garlic bread is the perfect side to turn an ordinary dinner into something special. Although it’s really easy to buy it in stores, I always felt like I was buying stale bread with chemical additives on top so I learned how to make my own. Making garlic bread from scratch is so easy. I'll show you how to make the perfect soft french bread for the base and I'll show you how I freeze garlic bread so I always have it on hand.

Recipe (Yields 2 loaves)
550 grams of bread flour (approximately 3 ⅔ cups)
2 tsp of himalayan pink salt
1 Tbs white sugar
2 Tbs olive oil
1 tsp of active dry yeast
1 ½ cups warm water
Bake at 350 deg for 25-30 minutes

Herb garlic butter
2 sticks of salted butter (1 cup)
8-11 cloves of garlic depending on your preference (chopped or frozen garlic cubes)
3 tsp of Italian herb seasoning or any herbs you like

Hi! I tried this recipe and because my yeast is different I decided to let it activate in the entire 1 and 1/2 cups of water that you had recommended. But my dough came out wetter and less manageable than yours. Could you tell me why? And my bread came out nice eventually but not as airy as yours. I had to bake it longer than 30 mins and even had to adjust the temperature to more than what you had recommended. I am a beginner so maybe you could help me. Thanks in advance!

Dough to water proportion is wrong. It could be because I used all purpose flour. If you’re using all purpose flour I’d add the water little by little to prevent the dough from getting too wet.
