Just so you know, that particular dye is a high-lift red. You are essentially still bleaching your hair.

From a hairdresser of 20 years- you did good!! If you wanna kick it up a notch for next time - do a zigzag part (instead of a straight line) - and start in the front where you did... but go up a lil as you go towards the back. You almost gotta cover 2/3 of your bottom area to have it look half n half at the end. That's the best advice I've learned from doing this style of coloring hundreds of times in my salon days.

Technically the hi-lift red color does behave like a bleach. And the reason why it’s so juicy is it’s meant for a bottle application instead of a bowl and brush but I’m glad you got the results you wanted.

my hair appointment kept getting pushed back; wanted to go from my
faded red with blue highlights to black with red highlights. stylist is a good friend so she told us what we needed and my mom and i dyed it christmas eve and it turned out beautiful so i’m hoping the same outcome happens with your hair! i think you added too much developer maybe and that’s why it’s liquidy. just a thought 🖤

Brooo, you should definitely put Vaseline on ur neck and ears next time😂😂 it feels super weird when u put it on tbh, but it does help the color not stick as much when you need to wipe it off later. I hope it turned out nice!!

l’oréal hi color actually lifts and deposits at the same time, so it should have an effect on your dark hair versus any other brand.

If you use directions, you will not damage the hair. You also don't end up with roots. And the color can be refreshed whenever you feel like.

If you don't want to ruin your shirt cut or rip holes in a trash bag to make a shirt cover up so it covers your shirt you wear. If you do get dye on the shirt that won't come off then it can be a craft, dye, and painting shirt so you don't ruin others doing things.

I use this combination of colors on my hair for 4 years. It took my dark brown hair to the most perfect shade of red. Good choice.
