Calling the hair colour at the start brown is absolutely fascinating to me lmao. I guess we all have slightly distorted views of our own hair- for example i like to think im still ginger even though my hair is more like a blondish copper and way less red than it used to be. Every year my hair becomes more like my brother's and his hair becomes more like mine heh-

A lot of Northern European children are born with light eyes and hair (usually blue and blond) because of the low levels of melanin. Later on they can turn a darker colour because the melanin levels got higher. Doesn't happen with everyone, and it doesn't even necessarily happen from light to dark (my sister was born with black hair but is dark blond now). I know it happens a lot here in the Netherlands, but a friend from Spain told me it didn't really happen there (they tend to be a bit darker, so I think that's why). I personally find it fascinating

I’m glad this is a universal blonde experience.

My advice, get highlights (thin). You don’t have to dye your whole head, looks more natural but will lighten the overall look significantly. So similar to what he is doing. I usually just get my whole head done with highlights rather than having intermittent larger strands.

My dad had the same situation where he grew up blond and then his hair turned brown once he started hitting his teenage years. Funnily enough, once he was like 16-17 his hair texture changed completely overnight and he went from having straight, slightly wavy hair to having a full-on extremely curly hair. Apparently he went to school without looking at the mirror and it was only when one of his friends pointed out that it looked like he got a perm that he found out 😅

My opinion on blonde hair is that if you can achieve a look this blonde, with one visit to the hairdressers, without bleaching to the point that you cause any major hair damage. Then your hair is not brown, it is dark blonde.
