Will this stuff ACTUALLY dye your hair?? 😬 💀

I met a girl in college who had platinum blonde hair that had a gorgeous purple hue to it and when I asked her about it she said something like "Oh I just leave purple shampoo on while I sleep every night"

Try 24 hours when i did it in college it made my hair platinum with a hint of purple 😊

Use a purple conditioner instead!!! You can leave it on longer without damaging your hair. When i had platinum hair i would often put the conditioner on before bed, put a shower cap on and go to sleep then rinse it out in the morning. Conditioner is also easier to evenly apply throughout the hair.

Okay so i understand not really wanting to dye your hair fully, but they also make color-depositing conditioners that will do this exact thing better.

I’m a hair stylist and I can tell you it is possible to turn your hair purple with purple shampoo. Some of them can be very strong. I would usually mix with regular shampoo preferably a moisturizing shampoo just in case. Purple shampoo is basically a toner with shampoo. It might not be as dark, probably more toward lavender. If you want purple without damage try Overtone.

if you do it again i suggest you wet your hair first, then put the shampoo in, should get all spots then! maybe put a plastic bag over so you dont risk it spilling on anything! :)

If you want it to be white or purple I highly recommend using the brand Ice Cream's purple shampoo, I have money pieces in my hair that are legit glow in the dark white. If I leave it in for like 10 minutes on dry hair it quite literally is purpley white. I left it on for 25 minutes once when I was trying to neutralize a rose gold balayage I had, and my hair was literally VIOLET.

For anyone that needs- I have Platinum WHITE hair and this is what I did/ used. Ice cream shampoo, you can buy it at shoppers. I used both the blue shampoo and the purple shampoo, covered ALL my hair and let it sit for 45 mins and showered as normal. Blue cancels out orange, purple cancels out yellow, if your purple shampoo isn’t working you definitely have light orange undertones that appear yellow.
