Encrypt + Mount Cloud on Windows | OneDrive + More | RClone Complete Tutorial

Want to encrypt your files and folders client-side before uploading to a cloud storage provider like Google Drive or OneDrive? Or even just mount a cloud provider as a "removable device" in Windows, like a USB? Well, it's relatively simple when you know what you're doing. Once it's set up: It's a one-click to mount your cloud folder as a removable drive in Windows, and another click to sync all your folders to your encrypted folder in your cloud storage solution. Sounds complicated, but once it's set up, it's not. Keep your files safer with free software.

Quick note: At 25:00 I show resizing the window. Since making this video, I've been made aware of "-P" or "--progress", which does exactly what I showed you, just a lot simpler. No need to resize the window

Dude! You are a legend. Saved me a hell of a load of research into this. One thing that I was a bit wary of was the encrypted file header which by default is RCLONE. So quick Google shows that '--user-agent string' will change this to what ever I want.

I was trying so many GUI but all dissapointed me by how slow or buggy those programs are. I came to Rclone as a last resort, because I hardly never use any command line in my life, and the only time I do use it, I just copy and paste mindlessly to try fixing some weird bug on Windows. Now with your guide, I'm happy with the change.

Masterclass. I pressume that you're a sysadmin, so, from one to another, thank you. I was green about RClone, but with this, my life got easier.

Great instructional video, thank-you. Now I have to figure out if we can mount via mount points instead of drives.

Excellent vidéo :) In case of a problem, I need to download my data back to my pc, do you recommend the little tool that mount your OneDrive and just copy and paste or I should use a specific rclone command ? Thanks !!!

Hi. Can you make a tutorial about how to properly mount RapidGator by FTP using RClone? I already tried, but got error warning when upload files from local drive.

Thanks a lot for your video! Saved me money not having to buy Mountain Duck to mount the remote storage on windows.

Is there a way to keep the drive mounted at all times without having to run a batch file and keeping it opened ? Perhaps even automatically mount it while restarting the machine (let's say I need to restart the PC for a driver/windows update) and keep it that way ?

I know that IceDrive does that natively, but they aren't really Zero-Knowledge like Mega... So I'd wanna do that with Mega or other cloud services.

Thank you for the vid! so helpful. I have pCloud and want to use rclone to truly encrypt it and have the same sync/livestream functionality as the base pCloud service. Can you post the instructions on how to automate this being mounted and synced as well as not having to enter the password manually on every start up? I want it easily accessible on this computer and truly encrypted from anyone on the cloud

It worked perfectly on my PC, but when it came to my laptop WinFsp was not getting installed. When i tried to install the new version it said, please uninstall the previous version. Even upon deleting the previous version the new version kept giving me the same error. I dont know what to do, have you come across such a problem? If yes, can you help me. Help is much appreciated.

Amazing video, really appreciate it! 😀
the config password makes a lot of sense, but surely its going to be annoying for automated syncs when you have to keep re-typing in password. Do you have a solution for this?
