Cloud storage using your own encryption

I show you how to create an encrypted container using Veracrypt that can be synced to the cloud with all the computers you have the software installed on. Veracrypt is an opensource encryption solution that can be used to create encrypted containers or even be used to encrypt entire drives. If you want to learn more, I am leaving a link below.

This is crazy helpful man. I've always been paranoid about cloud storage. I use it for my business but not personal stuff. Now I can!

I've replied to a couple comments with this - but wouldn't you need to pause syncing (like on dropbox for instance) when you mount the drive and then re-enable after you unmount? Because otherwise it will start syncing the unencrypted data as soon as its mounted, right?

So how does this work for files I have already uploaded to the cloud?

good video, but one tip. I wouldn't even name the container anything to do with "encrypted" or anything like that. That makes it a target for people to try to crack/decrypt. I'd name it something totally innocuous like and give it a totally different extension too than what VeraCrypt expects (the file extension doesn't matter to veracrypt, if it is a container it'll be able to decrypt it either way).
