Any personal, financial or otherwise sensitive data should be encrypted before uploading anywhere on the Internet. In this video, I talk about how you can use rclone, a powerful command-line tool to encrypt and transfer files conveniently to and from your favourite cloud storage service.

Literally beautiful ! extremely beautiful. but just one lacking point is that... so encryption seems quite easy but I still can't grasp what about decryption of the file. Though, this is really beautiful video. thanks.

Hello there! thank you for the guide i did have a question for you. i use google drive as a backup source. if i use rclone encrypt with /vir on robocopy will it detect a newer version because the file names would be different? or do i have to use rclone as the main backup source instead of a robocopy script or filezilla transfer.

Thank you for sharing this. Exploring various ideas, I moved a Veracrypt container on mounted gdrive (G:), expecting to be able to mount the container in now "local G: drive" using Veracrypt. Unfortunately, Veracrypt can not see G: at all. On the other hand, if I use Raidrive instead of rclone, I can accomplish the above without problems.
