Having a lighter, screech has a 3% chance to still spawn.
But having a flashlight, screech has way higher chances to spawn, so i'd recommend using a lighter in a dark room!

The reason for this is bc a lighter light up a circle AROUND you. A flashlight makes like a line of light, and it isn't enough to keep screech away.

Hey SpookSter, just adding one more thing, Screech does not spawn on rooms that Rush has destroyed lights on. So, Screech only spawns at TRUE dark rooms, which Rush did not destroy the lights.

Bonus tip: if you are in a dark room, and you see your screen shaking fast, that means screech is here, and also the screen shaking comes before the "PSST" sound.

One time I was playing with my younger cousin, and we were using our phones which were really dim for some reason, and we were stuck in a locked dark room. We got a ton of screeches but after like 10 minutes of being stuck in there the screeches just stopped for some reason. Eventually we made it out, but we got ANOTHER locked dark room and just rage quitted.

Fact number 6 : actually screech does always make a sound when it spawns if you listen very very closely he does like a no signal radio effect type thing so whenever I hear that radio effect i always look around even if he didnt do the psst effect

Explanation for number 6: He always makes and audio cue for when he spawns, its not a whisper. Instead it's a faint static noise that can be mainly heard if you have above 30% volume and with headphones. This is probably the most important part about screech which means you can deal with him easily, But i am pretty sure its just a bug since most mics have this little faint static when you use them.

I'm a Doors nerd, so here is another tip to get you out of locked dark rooms faster! You don't have to open every drawer, walk up to it, and if you don't hear the guiding lights sparkling sound, go to the next drawer, once you hear the guiding lights sparkling sound, you found the right drawer! Once you get the key, get the heck outta there and open that door!
