I have an almost 9 year old and my god this video hits every nail on the head! It’s so relieving to know it’s just a part of him and I can help guide him through this time in his life. This video helps so much.

I've been struggling how to understand my nephew cause he is always on his phone and not eating. I feel like he needs attention that most of the family in their house cannot give to him. Thank you this is helpful.

My son has been really testing the boundaries, deliberately disobeying, and being sneaky... this is great information! Thanks for sharing, I feel like I have a better scope of things.

My son just turned 12 and we don’t see those rapid swings in emotions (which I didn’t realize were supposed to start 3 years ago), which makes me paranoid that something could be wrong. He’s still a very sweet kid, which we obviously like, but could that indicate an issue? I clearly note that he is very passive around other boys his age and most boys have much more dominant personalities. When he’s playing with other boys it looks to me like he barely even voices his opinion and the others boys make decisions and almost tell him what to do. If this is just who he is and doesn’t indicate a problem, then I’m fine with it. I guess I can’t relate because I’m more of what you would think of as an alpha where I unintentionally dominate conversations, often make decisions without truly listening to others etc (I own my own business etc). I love him for whoever he is, I just want to make sure this doesn’t indicate a problem. In other words He still seems like a little boy (which I love) and I don’t see him grappling with wanted to be a “man” like you say in the video. Thank you for this video!

Thank My son had me questioning my love as a Mom for him and my parenting skills lololol. This was such an anxiety disrupter. I can now consider what he's going through.

My 11 year old is driving me mad. I just want to understand him and come up with ways we can help but also keep him on the straight and narrow.

You are great! I felt this but because of the recent move he really tests out all the boundaries, since I couldn’t supervise full time. But this is why I moved: Thank you so much.❤

Thank you so much for sharing this with us, my son is 9yrs old and he's already having mood swings and he likes to play more, at school he was the brightest but now because of this playful character he's losing focus he's teacher is worried and I'm panicking/frustrated too cos I don't even know how to talk to him it's like he doesn't hear anything when we talk to him. I'm very worried

I have 9 year old. He can’t walk, he wants to be with me (mom) all the time. Constantly asking what you doing if he sees me in phone, or if I am reading.

Thank you for the video. I learned that I should be more in my boys life; providing opportunities and outlets, to answer his questions frankly.

I am 57 and have been given the role of looking after my 9yr old grandson. The Ipad and computer are a real issue. He seems to be ok for a while and then after being on the Ipad or computer, he gets moody and rebellious. I'm not sure what to do about it. I think, maybe no Ipad or computer when he is with me, but he can use it when his mother gets home. Or say to him, he can watch educational things, and not just play games or watch movies. Yep, not really sure what to do about the Ipad/computer thing.
