The M1A2 Abrams is a beautiful tank, I want it to remain operational for many more decades, and never need to be replaced from the abramsx. And I want it upgraded from M1A2 to M1A3 Abrams!

I took my grandson to a WWI re-enactment when he was little. I didn't know at the time when we was climbing on the old tank that he was going to fall in love with tanks. I would love to take him to see tanks now. Does anyone know if a Jr ROTC student and a Vet (me) can get a lift on a chopper to go see some tanks? After 50 years I finally got my benefits and he's been a terribly neglected and abused kid. I'd love to make this a big treat for him. It seems his parents, my son and his mom don't have the time or don't much care about taking him anywhere he wants to go. Well, by God I DO! I'll take that kid anywhere he wants to go if I can find a way. I just don't have transportation.

How vulnerable are the optics estimated from damage from small arms fire or sniper accuracy? Would such a precision hit cause problems. And what about field repair if damaged?
