These tips are actually true. It all.comes to the quality of your team though. If you have built a super team and is expected to win 90% of the matches, it makes sense to have higher tempo and counter on. Actually, you'd be hindering yourself not doing so. On the other hand, even if you are super team, you'll play the City's, Real's and Bayern's in UCL. So apply these tips regardless, because otherwise you're giving space for a world-class team to attack (counter on) and giving the ball away/not keeping the ball (higher tempo). It is also true for width, it is imperative to keep it wider against weaker teams to open up the channels and find quick players, whereas against better teams, you don''t need these channels because you'll likely hit the ball over the top to quick players. Excellent video, some very good tips, I'm glad you've mentioned about the lower tempo as a lot of FM players just expect to plug in a tactic and away they go, but then complain when the tactic becomes unstuck against a "lesser" team. But that "lesser" is literally parking the bus and you need to lower the tempo to encourage ball retention which then hopefully encourages the opposition to leave their designated positions leaving a space to exploit.

Admittedly I am not very aware tactically. My current team, Coventry City, managed to get promoted to the Premier League and then proceeded to get smashed after a promising start. I was at my wits end trying to figure out what was going wrong. Maybe I should have watched this video at some stage during the PL season. I think it would have helped enormously. Surprisingly, I didn't get sacked so now the job will be to develop a new squad, new tactics and go back to the PL. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the video. Watched it this morning. Was going through one of the mid season slumps you talked about. Promoted from french national to ligue2 with Sochaux (Fcsm) and around christmas in first season in ligue2 form fell of a cliff. I was top of the league. Was trying different tactics although i knew the tactic is pretty decent. I’ve changed a couple of things now on the same tactic and took counter attack off. Seems to have stopped the slide. Sitting 2nd in march with 6 games to go. Cheers
