I sold my X100F when I bought an X-T3.Picked up an XE-4 yesterday. It is just what I wanted in a compact pocketable shooter. I love the clean lines, and classic look. Ergonomics are fine and image quality, well it is a Fujfilm..

I come from Sony and have quite a few lenses for my Sony A7 M4 but I bought an X100v last year and it's made me enjoy taking out a camera for everyday use and I am thoroughly impressed with the sensor and lens on that thing as well as the size and aesthetics.

So now the X100v is making me look at the X-E4 because I simply want a camera that makes me want to take it out like the 100v but can also give me the option of trying different lenses. Fuji has sucked me in!

So instead of taking my Sony with my reliable Canon 85mm 1.8 out with me, i think i'd rather buy the x-e4 and grab the 56mm lens. And now seeing they take Sigma lenses i think it's sold me. I'm pretty much only keeping my sony around for when i need to do client work it seems and i'm already selling lenses i own for that system.

Absolutely agree with you. I'm own my X-E3 for many years and still work fine for today, and very disappointed with this upgrade, especially the back dial.

I was unsure about the xe4 but after using FN buttons and swipes I have everything I need at my finger tips right away so it is doable. I just wish It was weather sealed but I can use my xt4 or x100v in the rain. But otherwise the xe4 is a great little companion for street, travel, small lenses and manual rangefinder glass

Apart from the usual product maintenance, I can understand why fuji has simplified the x-e4. It simply fits the target group better. But there are also certain risks involved. For simple snapshots there is already the x-A series, at least that's how I saw it. And then everyone has a smartphone so you have to offer your customers a certain extra to make the camera more interesting. As an X-E3 owner, I wouldn't upgrade to the X-E4. Whereas the x100 series is my favourite anyway, despite the restrictions :)

Glad to meet another Fuji user! Well... the X-E4 sounds a bit expensive for what it is... better to put a bit more and go for x-s10...(just my opinion:))

Excellent video. Fuji has taken a wrong turn here in my opinion. Its reliance on menu controls will alienate not entice the casual shooter, and for the experienced Fuji owner, less is simply less. A lot less in this case. I will buy the new lens though, so Fuji, don't despair --- at least you got one thing right.

you made a good choice keeping the X-E3 ma friend.
I rather go full vintage with X100/X-Pro. X-E4 just look so half-ass.
They removed the grip, the thumb grip and the autofocus mode too.

I use my rear dial all the time as my shutter speed dial. No rear dial is a deal breaker for me.

Nice vid! Just before checked prices (€, Ger) and in case you want the new 27mm f2.8 as well you just save 200€ over the bundle when getting a used x-e3 - best case. That's not that bad for a fresh cam with flip screen!
Also: the fewer buttons now force the photographer into simplicity and purity, similar to the xpro3 screen 😉
