Honestly, from the perspective of silicon-based aliens, they would think we look like dark and rocky organisms, due to them associating carbon with those characteristics, but obviously we look nothing like what ive said.

Silicon does have similair properties to carbon but it has also some crucial differences. One of those are dissolving in a liquid, which for carbon is water - a simple mix of hydrogen and oxygen. While for silicon it is sulphuric acid, which yes, Xenomorphs have in their system, but that is just very complicated. Another aspect we might consider is energy. Sure we can live by being connected to electricity 24/7 but in this way silicon based life wouldn't be possible to be created. For carbon based life forms we inhale air, turn it into carbon dioxide but for silicon based life turning silicon into silicon dioxide would be problematic because silicon dioxide is actually... sand. So unless you want to have acid as blood and poop sand every second to live, silicon based life is rather fiction.

Silicon is right below carbon on the periodic table, allowing it to form four bonds with other elements, and also forming long-chain compounds. Generally speaking, carbon bonds are twice as stronger as silicon bonds, and as such silicon based life-forms would be very primitive and very weak. 🐙

Crystalline or glassy appearance? I wouldn't be so sure. Look at the silicone polymers we use on our daily basis. They are like rubber. Moreover silicone polymers often contain silicon-carbon bonds, so we will likely never fully replace carbon.

Actually someone brought a point that if there were silicon based life forms they won't need to thrive too much on an atmosphere or much of anything so they could just inhabit any world as they choose to. If that was the case, we don't really see that many of them out there.
