PLOT TWIST: Adam doesn’t actually speed up the footage at longer moments—he’s just that good at what he does.

This was a very informative video Adam 😊 I haven't tried using tubes and rods like this but it seems like a good way to keep things in place. I like seeing your ingenuity.

How exactly did you take the arms on and off of Arlo? Didn't really explain how you did it.

The best removable arm rod I own is one created by a company for a puppet that used a Ball joint socket. the rod moves great and 100% impossible to fall off. Never had a problem with that style if that helps anyone. Still looking into finding a similar ball joint to make for myself.

The snap idea is great. If you used two snaps per hand, it would fix the rocking. Would also be a bit stronger connection.

I don't have any way of making the rods shorter safely. Are there any shorter ones you would recommend I use instead?

i have a question. how do you pin a puppets hand onto it's body?

Which string do you use for making puppet's hand finger.

Wow, I love that advice! Next time I build an arm rod puppet, I'll just do what you do and make the entire arms removable instead! I'll do the same thing with the legs so as to avoid the legs flopping up and down on camera when I have my puppet character jump or dance. But in the event that I do come across a scenario in which I want my puppet character's hand(s) to sit in the middle of the couch, I would just make two sets of arms, one pair with rods, and the other pair without rods. Again, the same thing with the legs in case I need to film a scene where I need the puppet's full body to show. And maybe another set of legs with rods in the whole leg if I need a scene with only the legs showing.

Anywhoosies, if you got the time, I was wondering if you could make a tutorial on how to make a flexible mouth plate, kinda like Kermit's; last time I made a flexible mouth plate, I just used foam because it was the only flexible material I knew what to use, but I have this little gut feeling that's telling me I'm not supposed to use foam. Besides, it makes my hand hot after a while of performing.

Very grateful for your contribution, but I would like to ask you to tell me where I find the mold for the armrests - normal hands, because in your Free Paterns, only the Live Hand comes and I want to make the two and put them on pins to exchange them. Greetings.

Could I use aluminum wire instead of steel for the poseable fingers?

Rather than remove the entire arm, I just slip the hand into a slit into the glove, pin it close, and there's an instant live-hand version - I'm sure it wouldn't be affective with a fabric like fleece, but works great for fur. But, prior to this video, one of the only other tips available out there for removable arm rods was similar to the first technique with the snaps, but instead of snaps, the idea was to use double-face tape . . . I tried it, and the results left a lot to be desired; double-face tapes seems to like to stick more when you don't want it to, but not stick very well when you want it to.
