PAISTE CYMBALS - Hi-Hat Comparison

Great Hi-Hat comparison courtesy of Paiste Artist Christian Hogan. He also features a rather unusual Hi-Hat combination, very interesting stuff. Which Hi-Hat would you go for?

15" Masters Dark Hi-Hat
15" Masters Thin Hi-Hat
17" Signature Traditionals (Top) / 17" RUDE Crash (Bottom)

Masters Dark are gorgeous, perfect hats. But that snare drum stole the show!

I use a 16" Signature Traditionals Thin on top of a Signature Full.

As an older fella, I was always under the impression as a young learner that 14" thins were always the way to go but as time went on and recordings/mics got better it is soooo obvious now that bigger is better ...those 17" w/ RUDE bottom sound so crispy crunchy at same time which is exactly what you want in HHs. Great vid as always. Keep up this work as it is well made and invaluable when we buyers have to decide. Kudos to the makers and Thank you.

Paiste the best! Together with the trad 17 crash on top. is that a rude thin crash 17 or the rude 17 crash/ride on the bottom?

I have a 14" K Mastersound bottom and a 14" HHX Studio Crash top (My ride, china, and 4 crashes are Paiste though)
