Franklin County father faces felony charge after rushing his daugther to the ER

We're told the parents rushed the daughter to the hospital in a life or death situation, but now, the father is facing a felony charge.

What an embarrassment for the Virginia State Troopers. I understand that the trooper did not know at first, but I would hope that the troopers critical thinking skills would alert him to the fact that this family were not criminals fleeing justice, but rather a family rushing their daughter to the hospital. I hope this Father fights this in court, I would be that's for sure.

Can police use common sense. If someone is driving with their hazards on, does not stop when you get behind them, and pull into a hospital...don't you think there could possibly be an emergency taking place? How stupid can they be

"protect and serve" why this continues past the point where it was obvious there was a medical emergency is beyond me.. I don't blame the officer for the stop or the drawn gun.. but for the state to continue with this charge after the facts is ridiculous. shame on them, and I hope they never have to face a similar situation where they have to choose between family and a bogus felony charge

Speeding is one thing..running red lights is a whole other thing that makes cops imagine the worst. If he had pulled over maybe the cop could have taken the daughter to the hospital.

This guy put a lot of lives at risk, including their own. The charges are correct. He should have called 911 for an EMS line of sight rendezvous or at least 911 could have advised him to slow down and let the police know what the situation was. Plus, he doesn’t have red lights or sirens.
