Here on my channel, I am renovating a 250 year old stone cottage on my property in Normandy, France. By using traditional, low-waste and off-grid methods, I'm aiming to keep the charm and character of this old building, and turn it into a furnished, finished home for family whilst keeping environmental impact as low as possible. There will also be content on living in France, visiting beautiful rural places, hunting for antiques, gardening, and more! Hit subscribe if you would like to keep up with my journey, and hit the notification bell to be alerted when we go LIVE where we have a first viewing of the video as it is published with a live chat so I can answer all your questions! Sean, you are such a hard persistent worker! It was a cliff hanger hoping your wall wouldn’t move….and it didn’t. Whew! Good heaven’s you have lots of potential sales upstairs….lots of polishing ahead! The tablecover that Sam found is beautiful! Always a pleasure seeing what you are both up to! Love from Pennsylvania, USA 💕🌷🐻

Sean it takes a keen eye to pick up on a change in the wall. Luckily you caught it before it could get really bad. Nice work handling the repair. Now you'll be able to sleep a little better knowing it's been corrected🤫

Sean keep up the good work restoring this historic building into a functional space that will last for another century thanks to your loving care. Keep up the good work.🔨⛏

I’m sure it seems like progress is slow sometimes, but I enjoy seeing how it’s “really” done. My husband was a carpenter/cabinetmaker for over forty years, and he always hated remodeling shows where houses get renovated in 30-60 minutes. He calls those shows “remodeling porn” 🤣.

I belief the fringed cloth Sam got is called a “piano shawl”. I’m guessing it was for draping over a piano (hence the name), but people buy them to wear as fancy shawls.

Good job explaining the change in exterior and interior levels, and how water damage can spread from leaks.

I love the way you find a use for everything, as you emptied that wheelbarrow of dirt, I was thinking where you put it all, so I got my answer.

You have quite a copper collection. I understand wanting to use it or keep it for a while as well. I also do the same. You are doing a great job on the wall and getting things shored up for a beautiful cottage. Have a wonderful day and another piece of chocolate apple cake.

The cottage is really coming along, i thought Tom had come to help you ! Can't wait to see what you've decided about the stairs, you know what will work best in the space . My first thought when Sam showed us the tablecloth was the cats would love playing with the ends!

All your copper and polishing wheel reminds me of my Father-in-law. He lived with us until his passing. He was a tool and die maker and loved polishing brass. I used to scourer the thrift store looking for brass items to keep him busy. He’d get his rouge stick coating on the wheel and make the brass look new. Gosh I miss him. Love your videos.

Hi Sam, the colors on the silk looks beautiful, but I do think it was originally a supposed to go on a piano but it would look like a lovely table cloth also. The cottage is coming along nicely. You have to get your son to help you. Always nice to see him. You have a lovely family, Sean. ❤
