Muslim teen to visit White House after clock controversy

Fourteen-year-old high school student Ahmed Mohamed is getting ready to visit the White House at President Obama's invitation. The teen was arrested for bringing a homemade alarm clock to school. His teacher and school administrators thought it was a bomb hoax. Mark Strassmann reports on the outrage over his teacher's reaction.

You know what is truly scary.. is that a NERDY kid can't bring his home made alarm clock to school, yet next semester/year ALL over in that same state of Texas, i will have to share college classes with guys who will have concealed weapons at hand.

I think what happened to this kid was wrong, if he wanted to bump his school why did he bring that clock to his teacher, it is very sad to read a comment like (he build it to look like abump to bring attention )

Invites and acknowledgements are good.. Scholarships, internships in the TECHNOLOGY FIELD WOULD BE BETTER.. I hope that Ahmed becomes an electrical engineer, or a scientist.. The USA needs more kids like him who are interested in science and for you Ahmed.. Best of

Man I just got reminded of this and I can't believe people fell for his ruse lmao. Blud didn't "invent" anything, he took a clock apart and mounted it in a pencil case. That's like if I walked into school and said "hey everybody look at my new invention!" and its a can of beans duct taped to a squirrel. Putting two unrelated objects together isn't inventing a new product, and it certainly isn't engineering. HE WAS WARNED NOT TO SHOW IT TO ANOTHER TEACHER BECAUSE IT LOOKED LIKE A BOMB AND IT WOULD SCARE THEM..BUT HE DIRECTLY DISOBEYED AND SHOWED ANOTHER TEACHER AND IT SCARED HER TO DEATH!!
