The phrase "close the barn door after the horse has escaped" also works. There are many times he has thought of safety measures after it was too late. He didn't lock down the mansion before it was attacked. He built Ultron at Stark Tower and had no way to contain it. He learnt from those mistakes and has Barn Door protocols to lock down the building and contain the danger inside, Closing the barn door.

I was honestly so happy Harley showed up at his funeral. Iron Man 3 is a very underrated movie so I’m glad it’s still getting the recognition it deserves by the writers and us audience
